Family Support

Families are essential partners in preparing young people with learning disabilities for adulthood. At Brighter Futures Specialist College, we work hand in hand with parents and carers to ensure support is consistent, respectful, and always focused on what lies ahead for each learner.

Working In Partnership With Families

We know families often carry years of experience, advocacy and concern. We listen to that knowledge and use it to help shape each learner’s support.

Helping families plan for the future is at the heart of everything we do.

We support young people with SEND and their families to look beyond the immediate and begin building towards employment or supported employment, volunteering, and meaningful community inclusion.

Through a focus on travel training, independence, daily living skills and health and wellbeing, we help learners develop the practical capabilities they need for adult life — giving families the confidence that the right foundations are being put in place.
